Damage from Flooding

Flooding in a structure creates many concerns – the risk of structural collapse, electrical hazards, and the buildup of toxic biological elements. Damage to a foundation, or a structure that has shifted (even partially) off of its foundation can create a risk to homeowners or occupants of that structure.

Call Terminix to perform a damage assessment of a flooded area today to determine if repairs are needed. Areas needing specific attention include the following:

  • Removal of damaged contents
  • Floor trim and subflooring systems – including warped and cracked floors
  • Drywall – including damaged insulation in walls
  • Ceilings – including plaster ceiling, drywall ceilings, and ceiling tiles
  • Shifting soil in the crawl space resulting in foundation issues
  • Mechanical Systems – including ductwork

Damage from High Winds

Wind damage is generally caused by straight-line winds (as opposed to the winds of a tornado), and a lot of damage occurs as a result of falling/flying debris during strong winds. This debris can include trees, limbs, or household items. Areas typically affected by high winds and falling debris are:

  • Roofing and Gutter systems – can result in leaking and water damage
  • Exterior Siding – including vinyl siding, fiber cement, natural wood siding, brick siding, stucco siding, and stone/stone veneer siding
  • Decks and Patios
  • Damage to detached sheds and garages
