PIDGEONS

Pigeons, also known as rock doves, are medium-sized birds with a distinctive plump body, small head, and short legs. They are typically gray in color, with iridescent feathers around their neck and two dark bands on their wings. Pigeons are commonly found in urban and suburban areas.

Pigeons thrive in environments that provide easy access to food and shelter. They are commonly found in cities, parks, and agricultural areas. Pigeons often roost on building ledges, bridges, and other man-made structures, mimicking the cliffs they naturally nest on. They are highly adaptable and can live in a wide range of environments.

Pigeons are social birds that often gather in flocks. They feed primarily on seeds, grains, and human food scraps. Pigeons are known for their strong homing instincts, which makes them able to find their way back to nesting sites over long distances. They reproduce year-round in warmer climates, producing multiple broods per year.

Pigeon droppings can cause significant damage to buildings, as their acidic nature corrodes metal, stone, and paint over time. The accumulation of droppings can also create unsanitary conditions and promote the spread of diseases like histoplasmosis, cryptococcosis, and psittacosis. Additionally, their nests can block gutters, vents, and drains, leading to water damage and other issues.

Terminix Pidgeons Control and Removal

The most important part of Pidgeons removal is ensuring proper exclusion to prevent them from re-entering the home once they have been removed. This can be achieved by sealing gaps around the home, and placing caps on devices such as vents, exhaust valves, and other protrusions from a structure.
