Termite Pretreatments

Termite Pretreatments are a necessity in areas where termites damage structures by feeding on cellulose (mostly wooden) components. Eastern North Carolina and Tidewater, Virginia are prime areas for termite activity. For this reason, building codes and lending institutions almost always require termite pretreatments for new buildings.

Terminix offers three different types of termite pretreatments:

Terminix Liquid Defend System: Preconstruction horizontal soil treatment, followed by a post construction perimeter treatment.
Borate Treatment: Applied at the “dried” in stage of construction. The goal is to create a 2 foot wide zone above the slab or soil surface of treated structural elements.
Terminix Baiting System: A stand-alone termite pretreatment system installed in the ground around the perimeter of the structure after the final grade has been set.
